It's not. It's not "about us." It's about Jesus!
There are many great Christian groups in Colorado and we are very grateful for their outreach, but many young Believers and Seekers have become disillusioned with, and disenfranchised from, the modern church. Many Believers have actually stopped going to church altogether, because some feel that their local congregation had become more of a business than a ministry.
Enter Faith Fellowship! Our mission is to be a breath of fresh air in this crazy mixed up world that we find ourselves. We are not a part of any particular denomination, just a group of Believers seeking to fulfill our calling in life. Some of us are young, some are old. Some of us are fat, some are skinny. Some of us are rich, some are poor. Some of us are mature in our faith and some are just babes. But we are all human...we are just like you. Our goal in life is just to be transparent and genuine and to be what Jesus called His Followers to be: the Light of the World. We are actually supposed to be like the moon. It has no light of its own; it simply reflects the light of the sun. Likewise, we have no light of our own...we simply reflect the Light of the Son. We don't think our way is the only way, but we strive to "Do everything we do, as unto the Lord." We each have been given certain Gifts, and we seek to use those Gifts, to Glorify the Giver!
Our goal is to introduce people to their Creator, and teach them how to share their faith with others. We meet at the Solid Grounds Café building. The Café is a great place to bring your seeker friends to chat and offer them a taste of reality (and java)! We provide free snacks and coffee, and have many free tracts and brochures available on a variety of spiritual topics. We also have over 1000 original posters and 100 original t-shirts for any donation. 100% of the proceeds go to helping pay for the free coffee & snacks (and overhead) as well as the other outreaches.
Our worship is exuberant but reverent: No choir (or flashy lights and smoke) or even worship "leaders." We just "make melody in our hearts to the Lord!" Some can sing like angels and others of us couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. The Lord only cares if you are singing from the heart, not if you are singing on key. Most of us dress casual (jeans and t-shirts) but we don't care what you wear, because God looks at the heart, not the container. We meet on Saturday evenings (November-April) at 6:00 pm for Movie Night: Christian film with free movie popcorn, snacks and drinks. Sunday morning service is at
1 1:00 am. The service starts with contemporary worship, then Bible Study with teachers like Greg Laurie, Chuck Swindol, Charles Stanley and Roger Morris. Then we have Communion (The Lord's Supper) to celebrate the Cross, the Resurrection and our Redemption. Many stay after the Gathering for a free fellowship meal, but you can stay as long as you like! It's all modeled after what we know of the early church.
Our message is modern but timeless: No fancy pastor in a three piece suit or priestly robe. Just God's Word, spoken with clarity, passion and with application for your everyday life. We are not here to entertain or amuse, but to edify and equip. We are staffed by volunteers. No one gets paid for what we do here. It helps keep us from any carnal motivations. We neither take nor refuse an offering. There is an offering box on the wall that allows you to support us if the Lord so leads, but you will never hear us ask for money or burden people with Old Testament tithing. Any free-will offerings that we receive are used to promote the Gospel, help the needy, and pay the rent and utilities. The love of money has infiltrated the church as a whole, and it's time to "overturn the money tables" and make the church a "House of Prayer, rather than a den of thieves." The Apostle Paul said giving is good, but personal. Our poorest member has the same status as our richest member, because wealth is measured in relationships not in dollars. The Gospel is obviously not about money, it's all about Jesus!
His Crucifixion, His Resurrection, and His Second Coming. Our focus must be on sharing that Good News with as many people as we can, and not get sidetracked by peripheral issues. To know Him, and make Him known...that's why we were put here on this Earth! Our primary goal is to give people evidence of their Creator, and then introduce Him to them, as their Father. Our next goal is to prepare each other to enter into an ever increasingly dark world with that glorious Light of Truth. Our job is not to save, but to sow the seeds of Truth; only God can save. Outside of Christ, we can do nothing that truly lasts, but through Christ, God can cleanse, save and employ (use) anyone. Some plant, some water, but God, by His Holy Spirit, is the only true source of spiritual growth and Life.
Our mission is spiritually authentic, but practical: Evangelism is our focus; and training Believers to promote, share and expand His Kingdom. From there: Helping each other through the tough times in life; being a shoulder to cry on, or helping someone fix a flat tire, or maybe dropping off some needed groceries. As Jesus said the greatest commandment was, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself.” So that’s our goal here: Love the Lord with all of our heart, mind and strength…and love each other the best we know how. The goal is not to just GO to church, but rather BE the church in any way we can, as we let the Light of Life shine through our daily lives. The Lord encourages us in Galatians 6:9, "Let us not grow weary in doing good for at the proper time we will reap a harvest, if we do not give up!"
We are not "pew warmers." Faith Fellowship is more of a discipleship training center for those who want a deeper, more intimate relationship with Father God... and are determined to take as many people with them to Heaven as the Lord allows. 2000 years ago, Jesus said, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Pray to the Lord of the Harvest, to send out workers into His harvest field!" It's time to stop praying for workers... and time to start BECOMING workers! So if you can relate to our mission, come join us!
Maranatha, Lord Jesus!
